What is Cosmic Nxws? Where is it located and how is it funded?
Cosmic Nxws was founded by American space enthusiast "cosmictylxr" back in July of 2023. Cosmic Nxws officially went online a few months later, in October of 2023. Cosmic Nxws is a registered business based in the United States. As it stands, Cosmic Nxws if funded out of pocket by its CEO and founder. But, as the sites scale and scope grows, funding will also come from store income, site views (through ads), and Youtube revenue. To learn more about Cosmic Nxws and our mission, click here!
What is the opinion/speculation tag?
While we always try to ensure our articles are not full of bias and we value impartiality, in certain article topics complete objectivity is not always possible, so we happily disclose and try to make that as clear as possible to the reader. Essentially the opinion/speculation tag helps differentiate articles that have a bias or are more based off of "what could" be, rather than what is.
What is the frequency of our Newsletters?
As it stands Cosmic Nxws has three newsletters, two of them are monthly, while the other is weekly. Our weekly newsletter, Weekly Dose of Space, comes out every Sunday, usually in the latter part of the morning (10-11am) in the States, or around 17:00 UTC. How can I support Cosmic Nxws?
Following us on our socials, reading our articles and sharing our work is always the easiest (and free) option to help us. However, as Cosmic Nxws currently is running purely out of pocket, donations to our "buy me coffee" linked here is a great way to show your support! You also could snag some dope merch from us and support both our artists, long term goals and the non-profit organizations we donate too. Above all, enjoying, following, sharing and learning is the biggest way to support us!
Can staff at Cosmic Nxws work on other projects?
Yes! As Cosmic Nxws is currently a passion project we are completely fine with members of our staff having their own substacks, ko-fi's or working on other art projects. We don't want to hold anyone back, especially on something they enjoy. People providing and setting themselves up for the future is something we will always support.
Do the personal views of writers reflect the beliefs of Cosmic Nxws?
To keep it as short as possible, no. Cosmic Nxws is a separate entity from its staff and its writers views or opinions on their personal accounts and personal life does not reflect the views of the organization. However, we take great pride in being a role model within the industry and want to make sure our staff is a kind, informative and welcoming part of the space community. We have had to work on this in the past and we are working on it now. We are always moving forward and looking to be a leader in the community, making space coverage accessible for all.
